  3. In a large bowl of an electric mixer, beat 1 cup of softened unsalted butter, 1 cup of light brown sugar and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar for 3 minutes till light and creamy.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time and beat in thoroughly after each addition. Mix in 2 tsp of pure vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add flour mixture to egg batter, and beat in till well incorporated. The cookie dough should not be sticky. If it is, then you need to add another 1/2 cup of flour.
  6. Mix in 2 cups of semi sweet chocolate chips, 1/2 cup of raisin, and 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts.

  8. Bake for 10 minutes. Cookie bottom should be golden, yet top is still soft. Let cool on cookie sheet for few minutes, then move to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Serve with milk, coffee or tea.
Baker Note:
  • Make sure your baking soda and baking powder are not expired. Otherwise, cookies will end up flat.
  • If you don't have brown sugar, you may still be able to make these chocolate chip cookies using granulated sugar only (1 cup), and they will end up as much soft and fluffy as the original ones. Of course, chocolate chip cookies baked with brown sugar tend to brown faster than those baked with granulated sugar.
  • If cookie dough is sticky, refrigerate for 1/2 an hour to be able to work with.
  • Store cookies in air-tight container to keep moist.
